There's an algorithm.
You're the one holding it.
Topiks does exactly what you tell it to, nothing else. Here's the whole loop, receipts included.
Pick your topics
Shows, games, actors, studios, platforms, esports teams, events: over 2,900,000 precise topics. Your feed starts from the ones you pick, not from what a crowd clicked.
Set your ground rules…
Following a show isn't the same as wanting all of it. You added House of the Dragon; that doesn't mean you want the casting rumors, the fan theories and the ratings analysis.
So instead of making you sort through every kind of news one at a time, we've grouped them into a handful of themes. You say how much you want of each. Once, for your whole feed.
…then break them
One show you'd read anything about? One you only want the trailers for? Open it and give it its own settings. Everything else carries on as before. That's why every topic says “follows your defaults” until the day you touch it.
Read a feed with no filler
Only news about your topics, in the languages you chose. When twelve sites cover the same story, you see it once. And there are no ads between articles, ever.
Ask any article to explain itself
One click shows what counted: the topic that matched, the kind of news, the site, the freshness. No mystery, just the settings you set, doing their job in the open.
Correct us. We obey.
Too much of one show? Turn it down. A site you don't trust? Mute it. Feedback here is never a vague thumbs-up: you say exactly what bothered you, and that exact dial moves.
What we never do
No engagement bait
We don't watch how long you scroll and quietly serve you more of it. The feed learns from what you tell it, not from what you couldn't look away from.
No ad-driven ranking
Nobody can pay their way into your feed. Articles rank on your settings and how big the story is, and that's the whole list.
No hidden profile
There's no secret file on you. What you set is all there is: change a setting and the feed changes, delete it and it's gone for good.
